Louise Whitby

Louise is based in Sydney. She has been consulting in ergonomics since 1990.  Her specialist domain is manual handling and the prevention of occupational overuse injury in a range of industries including health, retail, printing, manufacturing, government, transport and agriculture.

Louise is an active member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia Inc, currently serving as the Chair, NSW Branch.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse, St Vincents Hospital, Sydney, 1980
• Occupational Health Nursing Higher Certificate, Meadowbank TAFE, 1986
• Master of Safety Science, University of NSW, 1992
• Certified Professional Ergonomist, 1999

Experience

Key consulting areas include:-

• Ergonomics evaluation of work systems, processes, tasks, workstations, and equipment.
• Working with design teams, providing ergonomics input for the layout and fitout of workplaces.
• Development and delivery of training relating to ergonomics and OHS
• General OHS - OHS audits, and workplace inspection reports.
• Developing resource material - video, competency-based training and publications.
• Provide expert opinion for common law negligence matters.
