Peter has been an OHS consultant and OHS management system auditor for the last 8 years.  Prior to that Peter worked for 8 years with the Health and Safety Organisation as the Manager of the Public Sector Unit and the Management Systems Unit where he supervised the development of SafetyMAP.
Peter has experience as an Engineer, Teacher, Safety Officer, Public Servant and Private Consultant.
Peter’s vast experience in OHS and in auditing of OHS management systems makes him one of the most experienced OHS management systems auditors in Australia.

• Dip Civil Engineering Footscray Technical College
• Lead Assessor OHS Management systems LRQA
• Certified Professional Member SIA.

Experience

• Manager Management Systems Unit and Public Sector Unit Dept of Labour, later known as the Health and Safety Organisation and Victorian WorkCover Authority.
• Private Consultant mainly providing OHS management system audits for Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance.  These audits are against AS/NZS 4801 or SafetyMAP.
• Consultant to NOHSC.
• Consultant to Federal Safety Commissioner.
• Consultant to Victorian WorkCover Authority
• VWA representative on QSA and Standards Australia committees.
• Provided general OHS consultancy such as development of OHS strategy plans, procedure writing, training of OHS managers and supervisors, in a range of industry sectors
• Has audited more than 200 organisations.  Some of these include, Amcor, Cadbury Schweppes, Hanson Construction Materials, McDonalds NSW, Melbourne Water, CSL, ETSA Utilities, Kraft Foods, Futuris Interior Systems, Australian Automotive Air, Australian Defence.
• Provide OHSMS gap analysis consultancy services to Powercor, RACV, NRMA, Patricks General Stevedoring, Victorian WorkCover Authority, Border Express.  
• As a consultant OHS systems auditor to Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Peter has worked with DHS Southern, Eastern, Northern and Barwon Regions.  Peter currently conducts audits at the DHS Eastern Region.  Peter has also conducted audits at the Melbourne Custody Centre.
